Best Date Night Ideas in New Jersey

Here are some of the best romantic date night spots in New Jersey, perfect for Valentine’s Day or any date night!

Alto Rooftop at the MC Hotel – Montclair

The MC Hotel is such a great addition to the area, it is like being in NYC without having to travel there. I went in the fall when it was warmer out but they are open in the wintertime and have outdoor heaters. The rooftop serves small bites and drinks, with an amazing view of NYC.   They offer tons of unique drinks like drinks with popsicles in them and their grizzly pear drink.

The Pluckemin Inn – Bedminster

The Pluckemin Inn serves contemporary American cuisine which highlights ingredients sourced from local farms. The building is a Revolutionary War-era farmhouse so it definitely has an older school feel to it. The menu is curated by Chef Jason Ramos and features items like Scottish salmon, steaks, and Portuguese octopus.

Marcus at Nohu – Weehawken

The rooftop restaurant is by celebrity Food Network chef, Marcus Samuelson. This spot offers priceless views of NYC and tons of IG-worthy spots. In addition to that, they have great food, drinks, and amazing ambiance! I’ve been here for dinner and brunch and enjoyed both meals.  I got the mac and cheese which literally had the perfect cheese pull and a lobster roll. I’d also recommend getting their lavender spritz.

The Ebbitt Room – Cape May

The Ebbitt Room is an elevated seaside restaurant in Cape May. The ambiance is super romantic, it is dimly lit and normally there is someone playing the piano.  The restaurant is on the expensive side, but definitely worth it. Many of their ingredients are sourced from the Beach Plum Farm so everything tasted really fresh. I ordered the lobster caesar salad as an appetizer and there were huge chunks of fresh lobster in it. As an entree I got the seared scallops over creamy risotto, and for dessert the sweet ricotta donuts.

Porto Leggero – Jersey city

Porto Leggero is an upscale, waterfront spot,  perfect for date night or a girl’s night out. They serve Italian cuisine and everything I had was great. For our appetizers we got the classic meatballs with had fresh ricotta and the burrata salad with figs. For entrees, we got the salmon topped with white wine sauce, which was cooked perfectly. For dessert I ordered tiramisu had a really rich flavor.

Rat’s Restaurant – Hamilton

Rat’s Restaurant is located in the Grounds for Sculpture. They serve Country-style French dishes presented in a chateau-like setting. The interior is so unique, it has French and Moroccan influence. They feature a selection of French classics like escargot and foie gras.

Ristorante MV

The vibe here at Ristorante MV is everything, it gives rich modern Italian vibes.  They start you off with bread and olive oil and of course, we got some wine. For appetizers, we got the thinly sliced fried zucchini – it was amazing I didn’t even know I liked zucchini before trying. For my entree, I got the seafood squid ink pasta which was delicious.

xoxo,
